AFTER PORTAL’S LAUNCH BALBIR SIDHU HANDS OVER PHOTO IDENTITY CARD TO DOMESTIC WORKERS

The Punjab Government  launched the portal for the online registration of domestic workers.  Balbir Singh Sidhu labour Minister Punjab handed over the Photo identity card to some of the domestic workers after the launch of portal at Livestock Bhawan, Mohali. He said that now the domestic workers be extended the benefits of welfare schemes being run by the labour department.

Disclosing this official spokesperson said that “Domestic workers online Portal” was launch by  Balbir Singh Sidhu by saying that “till date there was no provision for the registration of domestic workers, which left these poor domestic workers out of the ambit of welfare schemes of the State Government. Besides they have been subjected to exploitation and ill-treatment at the hands of their employees.” He said that now after the registration of the domestic workers they will be provided with a unique photo identity card and they will now be eligible for availing the benefits of welfare schemes being run by the labour departments.
