Chandigarh Club Marks Labour Day with Launch of 1st CCL Box Cricket League Trophy

In a vibrant celebration of Labour Day, Chandigarh Club Ltd. hosted the inaugural CCL Box Cricket League Trophy, bringing together staff members, families, and Club patrons for a day of high-energy cricket and heartfelt appreciation.

The day-long tournament featured six enthusiastic teams, made up entirely of Club staff, competing in fast-paced 6-a-side box cricket matches under floodlights at the Club’s dedicated cricket arena. The event highlighted the spirit of unity, teamwork, and the Club’s commitment to recognizing the contributions of its workforce.

“This tournament was our way of giving back—to honour the loyalty, passion, and commitment our staff bring to the Club every single day,” said Club President Sunil Khanna. We’re incredibly proud of each player and deeply grateful to our members who made the day unforgettable.

A Festival of Sport and Solidarity

The matches ran through the day with spirited participation from all six teams. The event reached its crescendo with the Semi-Finals and an electric Finale in the evening, as supporters packed the stands, cheering every boundary and wicket.

In a thrilling final match, Team Raj CCL emerged as the champions, defeating Team Major CCL by 20 runs.

  • Raj CCL (batting first): 47 runs for 2 wickets in 6 overs
  • Major CCL: 26 runs for 5 wickets in 6 overs

The match showcased competitive cricket and incredible talent among staff players, many of whom were recognized with special accolades.
