City of Brampton commits $150,000 in grant funding to enhance community safety in 2021
The Voice of Canada News:
Brampton City Council has approved the Advance Brampton Fund – 2021 Program Framework, which includes $150,000 in grant funding to support Community Safety and well-being projects led by non-profit and charitable organizations in our community.
Projects approved for Community Safety funding under the Advance Brampton Fund will be required to align with at least one of the four levels of intervention outlined in the Council adopted Community Safety and Well-Being framework. These include:
• Social development – promoting and maintaining community safety and well-being
• Prevention – proactively reducing identified risks
• Risk intervention – mitigating situations of elevated risk
• Incident response – critical and non-critical incident response
Community Safety and Well-being was identified as an emerging need within the Advance Brampton Fund program under the Term of Council priority that Brampton is a Healthy and Safe City.
The 2021 Advance Brampton Fund will open for applications in December 2020, pending Council approval of the 2021 annual operating budget.
Background
The Advance Brampton Fund supports Brampton-based non-profit and charitable organizations starting, developing, and amplifying projects that support Term of Council priorities. Grantees are encouraged, through matching funds, to move towards project sustainability and a strengthened ability to partner, collaborate and lead well-managed and meaningful work within the local non-profit sector and Brampton community.
The 2021 Advance Brampton Fund will include three funding streams: the Emerging Projects Stream, the Developing Projects Stream, and the Amplifying Projects Stream.
