City of Brampton offers Spring reminder on parking and property standards

As spring begins, the City of Brampton is offering a reminder that all have a role to play in upholding bylaws and standards to maintain the quality of our city.

The City of Brampton’s bylaws act as a guide that help everyone enjoy clean and safe neighbourhoods and maintain shared public spaces. 

Residents are being asked to be a good neighbour by:

• Keeping the sidewalk clear, vehicles blocking sidewalks or streets are not permitted
• Keeping excessive noise down, regulations on noise and nuisances helps create and maintain harmonious communities
• Maintaining yard spaces to meet property standards, ensuring a clean and tidy state, free from unsightly and hazardous condition
• Not parking on city streets between the hours of 2-6am, or for more than three hours at a time unless a parking consideration has been obtained

The City of Brampton’s Bylaw Enforcement division ensures that residents adhere to the City’s bylaws related to public property offences, such as snow removal, excessive loud music and parking infractions, amongst a variety of others. The unit strives to maintain the safety of the public as they use roads, sidewalks, parks and other common public spaces.

The Property Standards section is responsible for the enforcement of private property offences, in order to ensure residents maintain their properties. Inspectors work to address excess grass and weed growth, as well as garbage and debris complaints.
