CMR University Hosts Prestigious All India Inter-University Table Tennis Tournament
CMR University, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), successfully hosted the All India Inter-University Table Tennis Tournament from 29th to 31st March 2025 at its OMBR Campus. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 top universities across the country, representing the North, South, East, and West zones.
After an intense group stage and thrilling knockout rounds, the grand finale saw Chitkara University, Punjab defeating Chandigarh University, Punjab 3-1 to claim the championship. The semi-finals had witnessed Chandigarh University edging out Jain University, Bangalore 3-2, while Chitkara University comfortably beat Adamas University, West Bengal 3-0.
Earlier the tournament was Inaugurated by Dr. K.C Ramamurthy, IPS (Retd.), Chairman, CMR Group of Institutions and CMR University, along with Mr. M. Kalaivanan, National Table Tennis Player, the event provided a platform for student-athletes to showcase their skills and cultivate sportsmanship. Speaking at the event, Dr. Ramamurthy highlighted CMR University’s commitment to integrating sports with academics and nurturing holistic development.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Mr. Arvind Arumugam, Former Captain of the Indian Basketball Team, who inspired participants with his words of encouragement. Winners and runners-up were felicitated with trophies, medals, and certificates, celebrating their dedication and outstanding performance.
