Congress reaches out to NRIs in Canada

Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, Sam Pritoda has sought the support of the non resident Indians, living in Canada to help in restoring the economic progress in the country.
Addressing a convention organised by Amarpreet Aulakh, chairman of the Canadian chapter of the Indian Overseas Congress, Pritoda said, the NRIs should participate in the progress and development of India since they had their roots in that country.
The convention was attended by about 500 delegates drawn from different parts of Canada.
Pritoda said, he was pleased to see the interest of the Indian community about India even though they had settled down in Canada. He sought their greater cooperation.
He maintained that India was at the cusp of change. He said, Congress party under the young leadership of Rahul Gandhi was providing a credible alternative to the current system. He said, Congress always believed in all inclusive politics and progress and it shared the values of equality and liberty for everyone.
Speaking on the occasion, Amarpreet Aulakh said, the NRIs although doing well in Canada were always concerned and interested about what was happening in the country of their origin.
“Our bonds continue to remain stronger and we will ensure that we do whatever we can for helping our brothers and sisters in India”, he said, while thanking Pritoda for reposing so much trust in the NRI community of Canada.
