In a first-of-its-kind wellness initiative, Dass & Brown Experiential Learning School (D-BELS) hosted a Smart Brain Laughter Yoga session on its campus, led by none other than Dr. Madan Kataria, the globally renowned founder of the Laughter Yoga movement.
Known for pioneering the concept that laughter truly is the best medicine, Dr. Kataria led students, teacher, and staff in a morning filled with laughter exercises, breathing techniques, and joyful mindfulness practices, all aimed at boosting mental clarity, emotional resilience, and classroom engagement.
“At D-BELS, we believe that a healthy mind is the foundation of a curious, creative learner. This session with Dr. Kataria beautifully aligns with our school’s mission to nurture joyful, emotionally intelligent students ready to take on the world,” said Principal Anju Mehta, while speaking about the importance of holistic education.
Laughter Yoga, a revolutionary technique that blends unconditional laughter with yogic breathing, has been adopted by schools, workplaces, and wellness centers across the globe. Scientific research supports its benefits from reducing stress hormones to enhancing cognitive performance.
“Children today face pressures we never imagined at their age. Through Laughter Yoga, we equip them with a natural tool to release tension, stay mentally agile, and live life with lightness,” shared Dr. Madan Kataria, ahead of the workshop. “I am delighted to be part of D-BELS’ visionary environment that values emotional well-being as much as academic achievement.”
The Smart Brain Laughter Yoga session is a part of D-BELS’ ongoing commitment to integrate future-focused learning with emotional wellness, combining academics with neuroscience-backed practices.
