D-BELS Welcomes the New Academic Year with Finnish Training & Saraswati Sthapna
Dass & Brown Experiential Learning School (D-BELS), Panchkula, marked the beginning of the academic year with a vibrant Teacher Induction Programme by the Principal , Anju Mehta. Deputy CEO, Dr. Gopan Gopalakrishnan explained the importance of Experiential Learning and STREAM . The CEO , Dr. Anirudh Gupta, highlighted the vision and mission of the school’s inception. The day also saw the ceremonial establishment of Saraswati Goddess to invoke the blessings of the goddess of knowledge and wisdom.
The staff and faculty participated in the sacred sthapna ceremony, setting the tone for a year devoted to learning, creativity and holistic development.
What followed was a robust induction session tailored for educators across the D-BELS campus — including Finnish Elementary School (FES), Young Entrepreneurs School (YES), and Dass & Brown Legacy School. The induction introduced faculty to D-BELS’ distinctive educational ethos, with a strong focus on experiential learning, interdisciplinary planning, and emotional wellbeing in classrooms.
The highlight of the programme was the specialised Finnish curriculum training for early years educators. Led by academic facilitators trained in Finland’s globally acclaimed pedagogy, the session focused on play-based learning, nature-immersive methodologies, and inquiry-led exploration — core tenets of the Finnish model now integrated into the FES framework.
“As educators, we must be prepared not only to teach but to inspire,” said a senior academic lead during the session. “This induction was not just a formal beginning — it was an invitation to reimagine education.”
With its unique blend of tradition and innovation, D-BELS continues to lead the way in future-forward education, guided by the belief that every child deserves not only to learn, but to thrive.
