Free HPV Vaccination Camp Organized for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer; 101 Girls Vaccinated

A free HPV vaccination drive was conducted at Jyoti Sarup Asra Kanya Orphanage in Kharar through the joint efforts of NA Cultural Society, Inner Wheel Club Chandigarh City Beautiful, Total of 101 orphan girls were administered the HPV vaccine under the supervision of Dr. Harpreet Kaur, a gynecologist from Amrit Foundation. The event was organized under the leadership of Club President Anita Midha and Society President Nikhar.
PDC Neeru Khattar, former President Deepa Duggal, and PDC Zone Counselor Kanta Kapoor graced the event as guest of honour.
On this occasion, Anita Midha, President, Inner Wheel Club Chandigarh City Beautiful and Nikhar, President, NA Cultural Society shared that the first dose of the HPV vaccine was administered to 101 girls between the ages of 9 and 25. According to the prescribed schedule, the second and third doses will be given after two and six months respectively. They mentioned that this camp is a significant step towards women’s health and empowerment, providing critical preventive care to underprivileged girls.
Nikhar added that the funds raised during the recently held “Wah Womeniya” event, organized in collaboration with the club, were utilized to make this vaccination camp possible. The core objective of that event was social welfare, which has been fulfilled through this initiative.
