Gujarat Public Affairs Council of Canada (GPAC) is a premier not-for-profit organization which was formed with the vision of “Together we will achieve a better and prosperous future; economically, culturally and socially. Be the key influencing organization between the Gujarat, India & Canadian government.”
Gujarat Public Affairs Council of Canada organized its Annual General Meeting at Gore Meadows Community Center on June 23rd. The meeting was attended by GPAC members and board of directors.
The event was conducted by current President Bhavesh Bhatt. He welcomed all members and provided the information on activities of GPAC in the last year. In last two years, GPAC organized 9-10 events including Gujarat Gaurav Divas & Award Gala celebrations, New Year fund raising events, social and cultural events. We will be working even more in the future to bring the community together and emerge as an umbrella organization. The board thanked all the Advisory Council Members Mike Mehta, Ramesh Chotia, Anil Shah, Bharat Chavda, Tony Panchal and Jash Patel for their guidance and support.
GPAC in line to keeping its promise of encouraging new leaderships each year, had election of new President and board of directors. 5 directors were elected for 2 year term and 4 directors for 1 year term.
Unanimously, Directors elected executive board, Dhaval B. Vediya as new President, Rajesh Brahmbhatt – Vice President, Jignesh Patel – Secretary General and Bhupendra Raval – Treasurer. Rajesh Shah – Director (Events/Sponsorship), (Bhavik Parikh – Director (IT/Social Media), Rajnikant Patel – Director (Membership & Sponsorship), Nayan Brahmbhatt – Director (Outreach/Govt relations) and Jitendra Vyas – Director (Memberships & Events). The new board will be in effect until June 30th 2020.
Dhaval Vediya shared his thoughts on how to make GPAC more effective for all the sectors of our community with the new board. Also mentioned about the positive impact organizations like GPAC are making in the lives of our community.
