Haryana Governor Extends Ramadan and Eid Greetings at Iftar Party        

On the auspicious occasion of Alvida Jumma during the holy month of Ramzan, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya graced an Iftar party hosted by Chaudhary Mohsin Razza, Chairman of the Haryana State Haj Committee, at Hotel Hyatt Centric in Chandigarh. The event brought together prominent personalities and members of the Muslim community, reflecting a spirit of unity and harmony. During his address, the Governor extended warm greetings to the Muslim community for Ramzan and the forthcoming festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, emphasizing the significance of these occasions in fostering spiritual growth and communal bonds. Governor Dattatreya highlighted that Ramzan holds a special place in Islam as a month of profound reverence and devotion. He noted that it is a time when Muslims across the world observe fasting, engage in prayers, and seek to purify their minds and bodies by remembering Allah. “Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food; it is a period of self-discipline, reflection, and spiritual cleansing,” he remarked. He further elaborated on the five pillars of Islam—Shahada (faith), Salah (prayer), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting), and Hajj (pilgrimage)—underscoring their importance in guiding the lives of Muslims. 

The Governor also recalled the historical significance of Ramzan, stating that it was during this sacred month that Prophet Muhammad received the first revelations of the Quran, marking a pivotal moment in Islamic history.In a forward-looking message, the Governor urged the community to focus on education, particularly for the younger generation. He stressed that providing children with quality education is essential to empower them to succeed in competitive examinations and secure positions in prestigious fields such as administrative services, medicine, and engineering. “An educated youth is the backbone of a progressive nation, and they can contribute meaningfully to the country’s development,” he said.Promoting peace and brotherhood, Governor Dattatreya recited a poetic line: “The journey is long, keep fostering friendship; whether hearts connect or not, keep shaking hands.” His words resonated with the audience as a call for unity and mutual respect. 

The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries, including Haryana Home Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra, former Punjab Minister Nusrat Ali Khan, farmer leader from Uttar Pradesh Kuldeep Kumar, Yogendra Singh Chairman, and Rishi Raj Rajat, among others, adding to the significance of the occasion. The Iftar party served as a platform to strengthen communal harmony and celebrate the values of compassion and togetherness embodied by Ramzan.
