India resumes e-Visa service for Canadian citizens

India restarted e-Visa service for Canadian citizens on November 22, 2023. The service was suspended on September 2023, due to tensions between the two countries over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the move is an important step towards improving relations between the two countries. The statement said that both India and Canada are committed to strengthening their bilateral relations.

The resumption of e-Visa service will make it easier for Canadian citizens to travel to India. They can now apply for e-Visa for India from their home country.
