The Voice of Canada News:
Canadians and their Parliamentary representatives must be able to easily track how the government spends public funds, which is why the Government is committed to improving the transparency of the Estimates’ documents.
Jane Philpott, President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government, tabled the 2018–19 Supplementary Estimates (B) and the 2019-20 Interim Estimates in the House of Commons.
The 2018–19 Supplementary Estimates (B) seek Parliament’s approval of $2.5 billion to deliver programs and services to Canadians. They include funding to support our veterans, to invest in First Nation communities and to implement the Feminist International Assistance Policy announced in Budget 2018.
The 2018-19 Supplementary Estimates (B), are the last Supplementary Estimates planned for this fiscal year. They reflect the government’s continuing commitment to improve the accountability of its spending to parliamentarians and Canadians.
The Interim Estimates, also tabled today, seek approval of $37.7 billion for 122 organizations, for the planned funding needed to cover government operations during the first three months of the fiscal year.
