Legal Aid Camp Organized at Sarangpur Village by State & District Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh and NMIMS Legal Aid Cell

On April 11, 2025, the State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Legal Aid Cell of NMIMS, Chandigarh Campus, organized a Legal Aid Camp at Gurudwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Sarangpur, from 9:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.

The primary objective of the camp was to extend legal and governmental support to underprivileged communities by facilitating access to essential services. Key services offered included Aadhaar Card updates and new enrollments, Labour Card registration, Ration Card assistance (Food and Supply), and guidance from the Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development.

The camp witnessed active community participation, with over 120 registrations. Notable services delivered included 38 Aadhaar Card updates/new issuances, 37 Labour Card registrations, 21 pension-related queries, and 15 Ration Card-related issues addressed. Legal Aid Members attentively resolved individual queries, ensuring timely and effective assistance.

The camp marked a significant step in promoting legal awareness and empowerment within the Sarangpur community. Public awareness about the NALSA Toll-Free Helpline Number 15100 was also disseminated.

Esteemed attendees included Mr. Surender Kumar, ADJ-cum-Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, and Mr. Sunil Kumar, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh.

The event was efficiently coordinated by NMIMS law students under the mentorship of faculty members Ms. Mita Kumar and Ms. Tina Benny, and the guidance of Dr. Rashmi Khurana Nagpal, Associate Dean.
