“BJP is shying away from the real issues. PM Narendra Modi is campaigning continuously while insulting opposition and speaking the kind of language that doesn’t suit a statesman of his stature at all. We want him to account for all the promises that he made before 2014 elections,” said former Union Minister and the deputy leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Anand Sharma who was in Chandigarh to campaign for Congress Lok Sabha Candidate from Chandigarh, Pawan Kumar Bansal.

Addressing a gathering at Hotel Aroma here in the presence of Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee’s president Pardeep Chhabra, he lamented, “Yesterday the words he spoke against Late PM Rajiv Gandhi are unacceptable. Narendra Modi is known for making shockingly insulting statements about his opposition. Rajiv Gandhi was a martyr PM of the country. He shouldn’t forget that he was assassinated by the terrorists. He died for India while fighting terrorists. PM Modi will perhaps be the only PM of India who will go down in history as the one who dragged political discourse to a gutter level. I would like to tell him that history doesn’t forgive those who insult the martyrs of the country,” he added.
