“At this painful time, we mourn with the families affected by the Pahalgam tragedy. As travel professionals, we recognize the deep cultural and economic impact such incidents have, not just on tourism, but on human lives and livelihoods.
I sincerely hope peace will soon return to the Valley, and that the government ensures swift action so that the world can once again experience the warmth, beauty, and heritage of Kashmir without fear.”
With these words, Praveen Ghaai, Joint Secretary & Treasurer of the Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA) – North India Chapter, expressed deep sorrow and strong concern following the recent Pahalgam incident in Kashmir.
The ETAA North India Chapter joins the travel industry in extending its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured. The association strongly condemns the senseless act of violence and has called upon the Government of India to take strict and immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The tragic incident comes at a critical time for Kashmir’s tourism revival. After the abrogation of Article 370 and the post-COVID travel boom, Kashmir had been regaining its momentum as a favored destination. However, this tragedy has deeply shaken travelers’ confidence, especially with the Shri Amarnath Yatra approaching.
ETAA underscores that Kashmir is an integral part of India, and restoring peace is essential not just for the region but for the entire tourism industry. The association urges the government to implement firm and timely measures to eliminate terrorism at its roots and ensure lasting safety for both residents and visitors.
“Only through swift and strong action,” said Mr. Ghaai, “can we rebuild global trust and restore Kashmir’s rightful place as a destination of peace, culture, and unmatched beauty.”
