Peel Regional Police – Arrest in Theft of High-End Vehicles

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Auto Theft Unit have been investigating ongoing thefts of Lexus RX and Toyota Highlander models in the City of Mississauga.
Since October of 2020, investigators from the 11 Division area have investigated over 80 stolen vehicle occurrences. Suspects were attending residential driveways, using a device to obtain software from the vehicle. The suspects then left the area, reprogram a key fob, return, and steal the car.
On November 22, 2020, at approximately 7:55 pm, four males from Quebec occupied an Audi A4. They were all arrested, after stealing the Lexus RX350. At that time, multiple key fobs were found in their possession, and a master key (used to reprogram key fobs).
The following parties were charged.
Darick Cruz-Reyes, a 20-year-old man from Montreal, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possessing Automobile Master Key, and Fail to Comply with release order. He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 23, 2020.
Carlos Aponte-Majia, a 21-year-old man from Montreal, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possessing Automobile Master Key. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on February 5, 2021.
Arzaan Khan, an 18-year-old man from Montreal, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possessing Automobile Master Key, Utter Forged Document, and Possession of an Identity Document. He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 23, 2020.
A 17-year-old male from Longueil was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possessing Automobile Master Key, and Obstruct Police. He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 23, 2020.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
