Peel Regional Police – Arrest Made Following Mississauga Bank Robbery

Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have charged one person following a bank robbery in Mississauga.

It is alleged that on December 7, 2023, the accused attended a bank near Cawthra Road and Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga. The accused passed a note indicating he was armed and made a demand for money. Fearing for their safety, a bank teller surrendered cash to the accused before he fled on foot.  

Following a short foot pursuit with responding officers, the accused was arrested. At the time of his arrest, he was found to have a quantity of cash, an imitation firearm, and a large edged weapon.

25-year-old Jerome EDWARDS of Mississauga was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. He is facing the following Criminal Code Charges:  

  • Robbery
  • Wearing a Disguise
  • Using an Imitation Firearm
  • Fail to Comply with Court Order
