Peel Regional Police – Arrests made Following Home Invasion/Carjacking Investigation

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have charged two individuals in relation to an armed home invasion/carjacking and subsequent carjacking that occurred in the City of Brampton.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., three suspects forced their way into a residence in the area of Goreway Drive and Castlemore Road, City of Brampton. Once inside, residents had a gun pointed at them while demands were made for their car keys. The keys were turned over, and the suspects fled the area in two Mercedes Benz sedans owned by the victims. The victims did not suffer any physical injuries.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., another victim was parked in a plaza parking lot in the area of Airport Road and Queen Street East, City of Brampton. At this time, the victim was approached by three males armed with a handgun. These suspects forced the victim out of his vehicle and fled in his 2017 Rolls-Royce. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.   

Members of the Central Robbery Bureau, 21 Divisional Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the Toronto Police Service later located the occupied stolen vehicle in Toronto and arrested two people. At the time of arrest, Police recovered a loaded firearm. It was determined that the arrested individuals were responsible for both incidents.

Arian Khorassani, an 18-year-old from Toronto was charged with the following:

  • Robbery with Firearm (X2)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded, prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
  • Wear Disguise with Intent (X2)
  • Failure to comply with release order

Additionally, a 17-year-old young person was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Robbery with Firearm (X2)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded, prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
  • Wear Disguise with Intent (X2)
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Failure to comply with sentence or disposition (X2)

On Friday, March 15, 2024, they both appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. 

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
