Peel Regional Police – Charges Laid by Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau
The Voice of Canada –Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have laid charges against five individuals, after they are alleged to have been involved in a homicide that took place in December 2020.
On Thursday, December 17, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m., emergency services received reports of gunshots being fired from within a residence in the area of Scott Street and Church Street in the City of Brampton. Uchenna Achioso, a 23-year-old man from the City of Brampton, was found with gunshot wounds and transported to a trauma centre where he later died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
“Gun violence carries devastating effects for our communities. It cannot and will not be tolerated, and these arrests made by investigators are a reflection of their resolve” said Nick Milinovich, Deputy Chief of Investigative Services. “We will continue our unwavering efforts to end gun violence and other types of crimes that affect the well-being of all that live, work and visit Peel Region.”
Hailey McVicar, a 21-year-old woman from Brampton, was arrested on January 12, 2021 and has been charged with First Degree Murder.
Jerome Smith, a 33-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested on January 26, 2021 and has been charged with First Degree Murder.
Aliyah Rosan, a 19-year-old woman from Brampton, was arrested on February 19, 2021 and has been charged with First Degree Murder.
Moses Tesfay, a 20-year-old man from Brampton and a 17-year-old male from Brampton, were arrested on March 2, 2021 and have been charged with First Degree Murder.
All of the arrested individuals appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton in answer to the charge.
Located Missing 13-Year-Old Girl
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have located a missing 13-year-old girl.
Jashante Cooper Harris was last seen on Monday, March 1, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., in the area of Burnhamthorpe Road and Erin Mills Parkway, in the City of Mississauga.
Jashante Cooper Harris has been located in good health. Thank you to the media and public for their assistance.
*Located* Missing 58-Year-Old Man
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have located a 58-year-old man who was reported as missing in the City of Brampton.
Michael Keenan was last seen on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 1:26 p.m. exiting a hospital in the area of Bovaird Drive and Bramalea Road in Brampton.
Michael Keenan has since been located in good health.
Missing 74-Year-Old Man
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking assistance from the community in locating a missing 74-year-old man.
Dennis Cattell was last seen on Monday, March 1, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m., from a hospital in the area of Queensway West and Hurontario Street in the City of Mississauga.
Dennis Cattell is described as male, white, 5’6”, 160lbs, medium build, straight shoulder length white hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a multi-coloured windbreaker style jacket and black shoes. Dennis Cattell also suffers from hearing impairment.
He was last seen walking on crutches and getting into a white sedan that picked him up.
Police are concerned for his well-being, as he suffers from a medical condition.
