Peel Regional Police – Man Arrested in Attempt Murder Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a man for Attempt Murder and firearm related offences in the City of Brampton.
On Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 6:23 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a shooting that occurred on a Brampton transit bus in the area of Dixie Road and Howden Boulevard in the City of Brampton. Officers attended and located a 60-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a trauma centre in non-life threatening condition.
Daniel Larizza, an 18-year-old man from Brampton was identified as a suspect in this incident.
On Thursday August 27, 2020 a warrant was executed in the City of Toronto. Daniel Larizza was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Attempted Murder
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order.
The firearm was not recovered during the warrant execution, the victim has since been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
Daniel Larizza was transported back to the Region and held for a bail hearing, he will be attending the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton to answer to his charge.
