Peel Regional Police – Public Safety Alert – Female Assaulted by Unknown Man in Brampton

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Special Victims Unit would like to make the public aware of another incident involving an unknown suspect who assaulted a woman in the City of Brampton.
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., a woman exited a transit bus in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Charolais Boulevard in the City of Brampton. As she was walking home, an unknown man appeared out of the bushes and proceeded to assault her. The victim screamed for help and the suspect fled on foot down a nearby pathway.
The suspect is described as male, light skinned, 20-30 years of age, bald, clean shaven with a medium build. He was wearing a black soft jacket with the hood up, black pants and black shoes.
The victim did sustain some injuries as a result of the assault, however, they were not considered life-threatening.
At this time, investigators from the Special Victims Unit are unable to definitively link this incident to a sexual assault that occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 near Hurontario Street and Steeles Ave West in Brampton.
In the interest of public safety, police would like to remind the public that it is always safer to walk in groups whenever possible, take routes which are well-lit and visible to the public, especially during the evening and early morning hours and do your best to be aware of your surroundings.
