Peel Regional Police – Updated: Fourth Arrest Made in Mississauga Homicide

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have made a fourth arrest connected with the homicide of 26-year-old Mario Ibrahim.

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Mario Ibrahim and his friend left a business establishment located in Mississauga. They were travelling eastbound in a vehicle on Highway 401 approaching Highway 427 when a dark coloured SUV pulled alongside the vehicle and shot at them several times. Although the vehicle was struck numerous times, no one sustained any physical injuries as a result.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 11:50 p.m., officers attended in front of a condominium building located on Webb Drive in the City of Mississauga regarding a shooting. Officers discovered 26-year-old, Mario Ibrahim from Stouffville, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was in the vehicle when the suspect walked up and fired several bullets into the vehicle towards the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a dark coloured SUV. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim died because of the injuries he sustained.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, Brandon Drakes-Simon, a 24-year-old man from Mississauga, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. Melnee Christian, a 24-year-old woman from Mississauga, was arrested in Calgary for First Degree Murder and was later returned to Ontario.

The investigation continued, and on Monday, December 30, 2019, Jason Williams, a 38-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged with the First Degree Murder of Mario Ibrahim. 

In March 2020, warrants of arrest were issued for Jason Williams and Justin Malcolm regarding additional charges into these incidents. 

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, investigators executed these warrants and Jason Williams was charged with Attempt Murder relating to the October 20, 2019 highway shooting incident. 

Additionally, Justin Malcolm, a 34-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in relation to the death of Mario Ibrahim.

Both men were held for a bail hearing and will be attending the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 11, 2020.
