Peel Regional Police – Witness Appeal for Fail to Remain and Shots Fired in Mississauga

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are appealing for witnesses to a fail to remain, and shots fired investigating shots in Mississauga.
On Friday, August 21, 2020, at approximately 3:26 p.m. there was a fail to remain collision at the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Road and Hurontario Street in the City of Mississauga. A black Mercedes SUV collided with a silver Audi; the Audi occupant sustained no injuries, but there was significant damage as a result of the collision.
A short time later, at 3:30 p.m., police responded to shots fired call at Bloor Street and Cawthra Road. Police attended the scene and located evidence that a firearm had been discharged on the roadway.
Investigators believe that occupant(s) of a dark coloured SUV was travelling eastbound on Bloor Street when they began shooting at another vehicle travelling in the same direction. The victim’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, he was treated for his injuries and is now recovering.
Police have determined that the dark coloured SUV involved in the shooting is the black Mercedes that was involved in the fail to remain collision.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses that were in the area of Burnhamthorpe Road and Hurontario Street on August 21, 2020, at or around 3:26 p.m. to contact police. They are also appealing for witnesses to the shots fired at 3:30 p.m. in the area of Bloor Street and Cawthra Road.
The Mercedes as since been recovered, investigators are asking anyone with information, video surveillance or dashcam video relating to this investigation is asked to call investigators at the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 1233.
