Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Mark Carney on his election as the Prime Minister of Canada, and to the Liberal Party on their electoral victory in the 2025 Canadian federal election.

In his message, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the deep-rooted ties between India and Canada, underpinned by shared democratic values, a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, and strong people-to-people connections. He expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Carney’s leadership, the bilateral relationship would continue to strengthen across diverse sectors.

In a post shared on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi stated:

“Congratulations @MarkJCarney on your election as the Prime Minister of Canada and to the Liberal Party on their victory. India and Canada are bound by shared democratic values, a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, and vibrant people-to-people ties.
