Rajasthan and Odisha Foundation Day Celebrated at Punjab Raj Bhavan

The Punjab Raj Bhavan was alive with celebration as it hosted a grand event marking the Foundation Day of Rajasthan alongside the Foundation Day of Odisha. This momentous occasion brought together esteemed dignitaries, cultural showcases, and inspiring messages that highlighted the significance of both states in the rich tapestry of India’s history, culture, and unity.

The celebration commenced with The celebration commenced with heartfelt tributes to Rajasthan’s remarkable journey since its establishment . A documentary film was screened that depicted both states’ historical milestones, cultural richness, and contributions to India’s progress.A video message from the Governor of Odisha was also presented during the event, emphasizing the state’s contributions to India’s cultural diversity and development. This documentary not only highlighted Odisha’s historical milestones but also illustrated its journey as a state that harmoniously blends tradition with progress.

The Punjab Governor & Administrator UT Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria  expressed pride in Rajasthan’s illustrious heritage, which is marked by its majestic forts like Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, and Mehrangarh, as well as its vibrant folk traditions such as Ghoomar dance and exquisite handicrafts. He emphasized how these elements contribute to Rajasthan’s identity as a beacon of India’s heritage.

In his address, the Kataria reflected on the sacrifices made by legendary figures such as Maharana Pratap and Rani Padmini, whose stories continue to inspire generations. He highlighted that Rajasthan is not only a land steeped in historical grandeur but also a modern hub for tourism and development.

The Punjab Governor lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,’ which has been pivotal in celebrating the foundation days of various states across India. He articulated how this program fosters national integration by promoting inter-state cultural exchanges and strengthening shared heritage. Both Rajasthan and Odisha exemplify India’s unity in diversity through their unique traditions and contributions to the nation.

Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria acknowledged Odisha’s classical dance form Odissi, vibrant festivals such as Rath Yatra, and exquisite handicrafts like Pattachitra paintings that showcase the state’s artistic legacy.

The event was further enriched by captivating cultural performances that showcased Rajasthan’s folk dances like Ghoomar alongside Odissi dance from Odisha.

The celebration was graced by several prominent personalities who added prestige to the occasion.
