Ontario’s Attorney General Doug Downey met with his provincial partners in Saskatchewan, Alberta and New Brunswick in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to discuss a coordinated approach to fighting the federal carbon tax. Minister Downey released the following statement at the conclusion of today’s meetings: “Ontario continues to stand united with our provincial partners in fighting against this federal overreach into provincial jurisdiction and is committed to using every tool at our disposal to protect the people of Ontario from the Trudeau government’s tax on everything. I am honoured to have met with Minister Schweitzer, Minister Morgan and Minister Anderson-Mason to discuss our approach to fight the federal government’s job-killing carbon tax that makes life more expensive for hard-working individuals, families and businesses.”
