Fireworks Safety
The City of Brampton will not be hosting any fireworks displays on Thanksgiving and personal fireworks are not permitted.

Thanksgiving is not one of the four days of the year when personal fireworks are allowed in the City of Brampton. For more information, visit www.brampton.ca/bylaws.

Brampton Transit
Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Thanksgiving Monday with some cancelled routes. Please check the schedules before travelling.

The Contact Centre is open and available to assist from 9 AM to 6 PM at 905.874.2999.

Customer Service counters are closed and terminal building hours at Bramalea, Brampton Gateway and Downtown Terminals are 6 AM to 9 PM. Trinity Common Terminal remains closed.

An enhanced cleaning and sanitizing schedule remains in effect. It is Brampton Transit’s goal to disinfect all hard surfaces, operator compartments and seats every 48 hours. The majority of buses are currently sanitized every 24 hours. Facilities and terminals that have hard surfaces are wiped down and sanitized on a daily basis.

The City urges riders to continue to maintain physical distancing at terminals, and at bus stops, even while wearing a mask, as much as possible. Riders are also reminded to carry their own personal disinfectant when travelling, such as hand sanitizer or wipes, wash their hands often, and cough or sneeze into their elbow. If you’re sick, please refrain from riding transit, get tested at the nearest COVID-19 assessment site and follow public health instructions.

With guidance from Peel Public Health, riders are reminded that non-medical masks covering your nose, mouth and chin are mandatory on buses and terminals. The City of Brampton is working closely with its partners at Peel Public Health and the Brampton Emergency Management Office to continue to monitor risks.

Peel Public Health Reminders for Thanksgiving Weekend

Shrink your social circle
In order to reduce the risk of COVID-19, we all need to reduce our contact with others. Peel Public Health recommends keeping gatherings small, and shrinking your social circle to your immediate household or essential caregivers.

Reduce the risk of spread
Thanksgiving will look different this year. As we give thanks together, it’s important to make choices that will protect our loved ones from the risk of COVID-19. Maintain a physical distance of at least two metres to reduce the risk of spread. Where physical distancing is not possible, be sure to wear a mask.

If gathering, less is more
Hosts should limit guests to their immediate household and essential caregivers. Less is more during a pandemic. If you choose to have contact with people outside your immediate household, limit numbers, decrease your time together, stay apart, wear masks and wash hands.  If unwell, gather virtually instead of in-person, get tested and self-isolate at home.

Don’t gather if you’re sick
Invited to a Thanksgiving gathering but feeling under the weather? Since COVID-19 continues to pose a risk in Peel when we gather, opt to connect virtually, self-isolate at home and seek testing to stay healthy.
