Toronto Canada Team Dhishum and Hindu Sabha Mandir : Virtual Ramleela Aired

Ramleela has been an integral part of Indian culture, a classic ballad of love, courage and betrayal. This year, Radio Dhishum and Hindu Sabha Mandir from Toronto, Canada took the portrayal of this epic classic to Virtual Platform. A team of Local Indo Canadian actors, photographers, volunteers made this year’s Virtual Ramleela happen even during the COVID. This Ramleela was aired from 17th Oct to 25th Oct every day.
Team Dhishum believes that this year to keep people safe and their spirits high Ramleela cannot be cancelled but still had to find a unique approach so it reached people in their home. Several local South Asian TV and newspaper channels have collaborated for this unique cause and aired the Vitual Ramleela.
The event so far is reached over quarter million people in Canada and is being loved by both young and old. Youngest performer was 4 months old and the oldest being 65 years of age. The Virtual Ramleela was directed, created and edited by Somya Mishra. The Character of Lord Ram was played by Gaurav Pratap, Sita By Somya Mishra and Hanuman by Ganesh Guzar. Acting skills of Ram, Hanuman, Sita and child actors were much appreciated by the Canadian audience. Young ones also participated with equal enthusiasm and delivered a wonderful camera presence. Veer Aryan Singh was seen essaying the role of Bharat, Heer Monga Singhal as Sita, Swastik as Ram, Manraj and Mankaran were scene in the role of Bali and Sugreev.
This year virtual Ramleela has indeed been a unique and memorable journey and the team look forward to bring the story back again next year to Canada audience. Jai Shree Ram.
