V.P. SINGH BADNORE SALUTES MARTYRS FOR THEIR SUPREME SACRIFICE AND COURAGE ON ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY

The Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, V.P. Singh Badnore paid homage to the brave martyrs from Indian Armed Forces at the War Memorial Chandigarh on the occasion of 72nd Armed Forces Flag Day.
The Governor placed wreath in the memory of the martyrs and lauded the courage and valour of the Indian Armed Forces.
General V.P. Malik (Retd.), Admiral Sunil Lanba (Retd.), Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa (Retd.) and Lt. Gen. T.S. Shergill (Retd.) and Lt. Gen. BKN Chhibber were also present at Chandigarh War Memorial.
Sharing his views on the solemn occasion, Badnore said that Indian Armed Forces Flag Day is a reminder for all of us to remain indebted to the soldiers who have spent prime of their lives protecting the boundaries. It is our moral responsibility to give top priority for the welfare and well being of their families, he added. The Governor urged all the citizens to voluntarily contribute towards the noble cause for the rehabilitation of war widows, disabled defence personnel and Ex-servicemen. Shri Badnore also made the donation on this auspicious day.

The Governor also released the annual magazine of Punjab Sainik Welfare on the occasion.
