An Online Video Leads to Stunt Driving Charges

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Road Safety Services unit have laid charges in relation to a vehicle captured stunt driving in the City of Mississauga after reviewing a video that surfaced on social media.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the intersection of Derry Road and Rexwood Road in the City of Mississauga, a white Lexus was observed spinning its tires, causing the tires to lose traction with the surface of the road.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, police attended an address associated with the registered owner and a 21-year-old man from Brampton was charged with:

Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Cause Tire to Lose Traction contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

As a result of the charge laid, the Lexus has been impounded, and the driver’s licence suspended, each for seven days.
