Brampton celebrates National Public Works Week 2024: Advancing Quality of Life for All

Brampton City Council proclaimed May 19 to 25, 2024, as National Public Works Week (NPWW). This year’s theme is Advancing Quality of Life for All, which highlights how public works professionals are making life better for residents each day they go to work.

​NPWW is celebrated across Canada and the United States and provides an opportunity to recognize the important work of the more than 400 team members of the City of Brampton’s Public Works and Engineering department. NPWW also helps raise awareness about the role of this team.

2024 NPWWCity of Brampton gearing up to celebrate National Public Works Week 2024​

The City of Brampton’s Public Works and Engineering department keeps the community a safe and healthy place to live, work and play through various services. They include:

  • Snow clearing operations
  • Street sweeping and Leaf Vacuums 
  • Stormwater maintenance 
  • Street safety programs and initiatives
  • Building construction and maintenance 
  • Road resurfacing 
  • Engineering and design 
  • Emergency response support
  • Facility operations 

This year, the City of Brampton will celebrate NPWW with the 21st annual bus pull, flag raising, a fundraising BBQ and more staff appreciation events planned for the week.
