Brampton Fire and Emergency Services taking part in Saved by the Beep, led by Office of the Fire Marshal

To raise awareness of the importance of fire safety and preparedness, the City of Brampton is participating in Ontario’s first Test Your Smoke Alarm Day, happening September 28, led by the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM).
With a rise in fire fatalities across the province, the OFM has created an education campaign, Saved by the Beep, to encourage residents to test their smoke alarms and to take the appropriate actions to make their homes more fire safe.
Brampton Fire and Emergency Services is taking part in Saved by the Beep, to educate residents about the importance of working smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and having a home escape plan.
Throughout September, the City of Brampton and BFES will be sharing information on social media and host an in-person event to discuss the importance of fire safety in the home and tips residents can use to ensure they are prepared in the event of a fire.

To spread awareness BFES is challenging residents on social media to get moving in their Saved by the Beep dance challenge. They’ve come up with a dance that is easy for all ages and abilities. To help spread awareness for smoke alarm safety, share your video on social and use #SavedByTheBeep to show how you test the beep. Check out the dance on @citybrampton Instagram.
