City of Brampton Opens Applications for 2025 Tourism Sponsorship Program
Fostering partnerships, celebrating community and driving Brampton’s tourism growth
The Voice of Canada News The City of Brampton is pleased to announce applications are now open for its 2025 Tourism Sponsorship Program, designed to support festivals and sport competitions that provide compelling and diverse experiences in Brampton.

This program fosters civic pride, drives community engagement and strengthens Brampton’s position as a vibrant tourism destination. By celebrating multiculturalism and supporting events enhancing economic activity, the Tourism Sponsorship Program plays a key role in showcasing Brampton’s unique character.
In 2024, the Tourism Sponsorship Program supported 23 Sport Tourism events, attracting 24,000 participants and 52,000 spectators, resulting in over 8,000 nights booked in local accommodations and generating over $16 million in economic impact.
The program also supported 13 cultural festivals, which collectively contributed $9 million in economic impact and drew over 113,000 attendees.
Sport Tourism Events
Sport tourism is a powerful driver of community and economic growth. Events supported by this program generate significant positive economic impacts, build Brampton’s legacy as a sports hub and foster lasting partnerships within the community.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be an incorporated non-profit or registered charity for a minimum of three years.
- Events must be open to the public.
- Events must feature at least two consecutive days of amateur competition, each lasting a minimum of seven hours per day.
- Events must book a minimum of 50 room nights at a recognized Brampton accommodation providers.
- Events must have at least 50% of participants (athletes, coaches, officials) travelling more than 40 km one way to attend the event.
Experience Brampton Festivals
The program will also support one new Experience Brampton festival that celebrates art, culture, food, music, dance or other attractions. These festivals must enhance community engagement and showcase Brampton as a multicultural destination.
Eligibility
- Festival must be open to the public.
- Festival must include a communications and marketing plan to promote to visitors from greater than 40 km outside of Brampton.
- Festival must have an attendance or more than 1,000 unique visitors.
- Festival must have a minimum overall budget of $60,000.
- Festival must hire a minimum of 25% of their entertainment, food vendors and operational vendors from Brampton.
- Applicants must be incorporated non-profits or registered charities that have been operational for at least three years.
- Festival must have been run at least three times by the same organization.
- Eligible festivals must take place in Brampton in 2025.
