Family Day celebrations and closures in the City of Brampton
The Voice of Canada News – Get ready for an unforgettable Family Day in Brampton, packed with exciting activities for all ages. Whether seeking adventure, relaxation or quality time together, Brampton has something special for every family.
Family Day is Monday, February 19, 2024, and most City of Brampton offices, including City Hall will be closed.
All critical services, including Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services will continue to operate as usual to support the community.
Residents can call 311 or 905.874.2000 (outside of Brampton), use the Brampton 311 app (available on App Store or Google Play), visit 311brampton.ca or email 311@brampton.ca for any inquiries. 311 is available 24/7 for any City of Brampton or Region of Peel matters.
The City of Brampton wants residents to enjoy Family Day with loved ones and is hosting several activities to help you celebrate.
Recreation Centres and Programs
Generously sponsored by Tim Hortons, the City of Brampton is offering free drop-in sports, swimming and skating programs at select recreation centres this Family Day. Pre-registration is recommended and will open on Friday, February 16, for residents and on Saturday, February 17, for non-residents.
Registered programs such as swimming and skating lessons are not scheduled on Family Day.

Outdoor Skating
Lace up your skates this Family Day and visit one of the City’s outdoor skating rinks and trails. Reservations are not required, and outdoor skating at these locations is free.
Those using the skating rinks and recreational trails are encouraged to wear a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet. Please ensure your skates are sharpened.
Rinks may temporarily close due to weather or maintenance requirements. Please check rink hours and status updates at brampton.ca/outdoorskating prior to visiting.

Chinguacousy Park Family Day Event
Join us for a day of family fun at Chinguacousy Park!
Date: February 19, 2024, Time: 12 pm – 4 pm, Location: Chinguacousy Park, 9050 Bramalea Road, Brampton, ON
Enjoy a day packed with joy for everyone including:
- barn scavenger hunt

Take a trip down Mount Chinguacousy
Located at Chinguacousy Park, Mount Chinguacousy will be open Family Day for snow tubing from 10 am – 6 pm. If weather and snow conditions permit, grab your winter gear and visit Mount Chinguacousy with your family this Family Day. Recreational Trails and Pathways
Take a beautiful winter stroll through our recreational trails this winter. All main recreational trails remain open and maintained, including outdoor fitness equipment. All outdoor courts also remain open for play including basketball, tennis and ball hockey.

Catch a show at The Rose
JUNO Award-winning duo Splash’N Boots returns to The Rose for a show filled with connection, music, and heart. Enjoy an afternoon of song and dance, as Splash’N Boots brings their nearly 20-year legacy in children’s music to new generations. Arrive one hour before the show to enjoy character meet and greets and colouring in the lobby.

Family Fun Day in Downtown Brampton
For free, Family Day fun check out the Nelson Square Pocket Park in downtown Brampton. We welcome everyone for an afternoon of storytelling around the fire, s’mores roasting and games.

Brampton Transit
Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, February 19. Customer Service counters at the terminals will be closed. The Contact Centre will be available to assist from 9 am – 6 pm at 905.874.2999. Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed on Monday, February 19.

The Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on February 19, 2024. Animal Control will be on the road from 8 am to 6:30 pm and will continue to respond to emergency calls outside of these hours.
