Peel Regional Police – Charges Laid After Brampton Fail to Remain

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have laid numerous charges, after a woman was seriously injured in a collision in the City of Brampton.

On Thursday, September 17, 2020, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the victim was present at a residential complex in the area of Steeles Avenue West and McMurchy Avenue South in Brampton. The victim engaged in conversation with two occupants of a vehicle, and during that interaction, the suspect struck the victim with his vehicle and fled the scene without stopping to offer aid or assistance. The victim was transported to a trauma centre in critical condition and remains there at this time.

On Friday, September 18, 2020, both suspects were located in the area of Steeles Avenue and Chinguacousy Road and taken into custody. As a result, officers have laid numerous charges in relation to the Fail to Remain collision. Manvir Singh, a 21-year-old man from Brampton, has been charged with the following:

–          Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm

–          Fail to Stop After Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm

–          Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x4

Amandeep Grewal, a 33-year-old man from Brampton, has been charged with the following:

–          Accessory After the Fact to Commit an Indictable Offence x2

–          Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x4

–          Fail to Comply with Release Order
