
Peel Regional Police – Gun Found in Mail Leads to Gun and Drug Trafficking Arrest

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Airport Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have arrested a Toronto man for numerous drug and weapon offences.
On November 2, 2024, a package containing a suspected firearm was intercepted at a parcel screening center at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Police took custody of the package destined for Manitoba and located an illegal Glock 19, 9mm handgun with a prohibited magazine containing ammunition.

After a lengthy investigation, the Airport Division CIB identified the sender of the package and executed a search warrant at a residence in North York. Officers seized two handguns, ammunition and 1.5 kgs of suspected cocaine, along with quantities of suspected Percocet, methamphetamine, and cannabis.
On May 16, 2025, 22-year-old Jayden Edwards-Reid was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on the following charges:
- Firearms Trafficking
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (X3)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon (X3)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (X3)
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (X4)
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (X2)
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
