Peel Regional Police – Police Seeking Suspect Identity in Robbery Shooting Incident

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery and shooting at a business in the City of Mississauga.

On Monday, June 15, 2020, at approximately 1:56 p.m., the victim exited his place of work located in the area of Hurontario Street and Dundas Street West in the City of Mississauga.

The victim was walking through the parking lot while walking a blue Toyota Corolla approached him. A male suspect exited the vehicle from the passenger side and demanded the victim’s belongings while pointing a black handgun.

The victim complied immediately and turned over his property to the suspect. After surrendering his belongings, the suspect shot the victim in the leg. The two suspect suspects fled the area in the Toyota. Subsequent investigation revealed this automobile to be stolen and was used in offences in Toronto and Waterloo; police have since recovered the vehicle. The victim was treated in hospital for his injury and is in recovery.

Diligent work by investigators led to the identity of one of the two suspects. Madar Hassan and 18-year-old from Mississauga turned himself into 12 Division Peel Regional Police on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Hassan was arrested and charged with Robbery and numerous firearms-related offences

Hassan was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in the Brampton on Wednesday, July 7, 2020.

Investigators are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the second suspect. He is described as male black, thin build, 18 to 25 years of age. At the time of the offence, he was wearing; dark hooded sweatshirt and surgical maks covering his face.
