Peel Regional Police – Public Safety Alert – Stranger Sexual Assault in Brampton

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Special Victims Unit would like to make the public aware of a stranger sexual assault which occurred in the City of Brampton.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at approximately 1:15 a.m., a woman was sexually assaulted while walking alone through a green space in the area of Steeles Avenue West and Hurontario Street. The suspect is a man who is unknown to the victim.
The suspect is described as male, white, between 35-50 years old and of an average build.
Investigators from the Special Victims Unit are looking to speak with anyone may have witnessed the incident described above or anyone with information related to a similar incident. This information can be provided by calling 905-453-2121 ext. 3460. In the interest of public safety, Police would like to remind the public that it is always safer to walk in groups whenever possible and take routes which are well-lit and visible to the public, especially during the evening hours.
