Peel Regional Police – Youth Arrested for Bank Robbery

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested a youth with a bank robbery in Brampton.

On June 25, 2020, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a suspect attended a bank in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Conestoga Drive in Brampton. The suspect entered the bank while his face was concealed with a white medical mask, approached the teller and passed a note to an employee demanding money. The employee turned over a quantity of currency, and the suspect exited the bank and left the area in a vehicle. 

A weapon was indicated by the suspect but was not seen.

Through a detailed criminal investigation, the suspect was identified, and on July 7, 2020, a 16-year-old male youth from Kitchener was arrested and charged with Robbery, Use Imitation Firearm, Wear Disguise with Intent and Fail to Comply with Release Order. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing on July 8, 2020, in answer to the charges.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
