Premier Ford to Meet Investors and Business Leaders in New York City

Post-Budget tour with Minister of Finance will signal that Ontario is open for business

The Voice of Canada News

Premier Doug Ford and Vic Fedeli, Minister of Finance, are taking Ontario’s open for the business message to the Big Apple. On April 29 and 30, Ford and Fedeli will meet with key leaders to promote Ontario as an investment destination and strengthen job-creating partnerships. Minister Fedeli has delivered the government’s first budget, which puts people first, sets a plan to balance the budget responsibly, and protects what matters most.

“Our budget will restore trust in Ontario’s finances. As Premier, it’s my responsibility to show the world that Ontario is open for business and open for jobs and I’m proud to take that message to the United States this week,” said Ford. “We are making Ontario a leading destination for investment and job creation by cutting red tape and over-regulation.”

Ford and Fedeli will meet with trade and industry representatives and members of the business media during the post-budget visit.

“For too long in Ontario, people, families and businesses have been forced to feel like they are working for the government,” said Fedeli. “We are taking deliberate steps to reinvent government and put the province back on a sound financial footing. We’re heading to New York to tell Ontario’s story and showcase the progress we’ve already seen.”
