Tentative agreement reached with health science professionals

Members of the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association (HSPBA) have reached a tentative agreement under the B.C. government’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate, which focuses on improving services for people and ensuring fair and affordable compensation.

The tentative agreement covers approximately 18,000 health science professionals working as medical technologists, medical radiation technologists and physiotherapists, as well as in medical and laboratory disciplines, pharmacists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and physiotherapists. Further details about the agreement will be available once the ratification process for the HSPBA unions, Health Employers Association of BC and its member-employers is completed.

The Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate supports government’s commitment to improve the services people count on, make life more affordable and invest in sustainable economic growth. The mandate is consistent with B.C.’s commitment to balanced budgets and sound fiscal management. It provides parties with the ability to negotiate conditional and modest funding to drive tangible service improvements for people in B.C.

Currently, approximately 110,600 public sector employees are now covered by tentative or ratified agreements reached under B.C.’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate.
