Update Following November 9 Shooting Homicide in Brampton

Investigators from the Homicide Bureau have arrested two individuals and have issued a warrant for another in relation to a Brampton shooting homicide.
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 3:06 p.m., police responded to Chadwick Street and Lockwood Road in Brampton for an individual injured in the street. It was discovered that the victim had been shot.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, 37-year-old Sterling Sylvester succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On November 20, 2024, Eileen Beardy, a 34-year-old female from Brampton, and Lucas Cardy, a 30-year-old man from Brampton were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
They’re charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Manslaughter
- Accessory After the Fact to Murder
An arrest warrant for the suspected shooter, 33-year-old Anthony Beardy of no fixed address has been issued for Second Degree Murder.
Anthony is described as 6’1”, 190lbs, medium build, brown eyes, and of indigenous decent. He has a tattoo on the front of his neck of a skull with feathers, and a tattoo containing text on his left hand.
