Brampton Honey Badgers Basketball Club

The Brampton Honey Badgers serve as the new and only professional sports team within the City of Brampton.

Canadian Elite Basketball League

Having recently made the permanent move from Hamilton to Brampton, the team competes in Canada’s only men’s professional basketball league – the CEBL (Canadian Elite Basketball League). The CEBL season runs from May to August and is currently celebrating its fifth season with a new multi-year partnership with TSN as its national television broadcast provider.

The Brampton Honey Badgers are the defending league champions and play their home games at CAA Centre (7575 Kennedy Road South).

The City of Brampton has produced several top male and female basketball players and is considered a Top 3 talent for producing basketball talent in Canada (Brampton, Toronto, Montreal). The CEBL has already produced nine players who have graduated to the NBA and serve as one of the top FIBA leagues in the world.

Basketball has become the most participatory sport in Canada and ranks as the number one sport among new Canadians and the favourite sport among young people. Professional basketball uniquely combines sport, music, art, culture, and fashion, while connecting all facets of the community.

“We Are Brampton”

The goal is to have the Brampton Honey Badgers truly represent the diversity of the game and Brampton city. Last month, the Honey Badgers launched a new “We Are Brampton” alternate jersey that not only showcases the city it represents, but the multi-coloured stripes along the uniform proudly highlight the diversity of Brampton and the many cultures that make our city special.
