Peel Regional Police – Search Warrant Locates Firearm, Drugs and Cash

Officers from the 11 Division Community Incident Response Team (CIRT) have arrested and charged two individuals, located a firearm, a quantity of drugs and cash, and laid numerous criminal charges.

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, officers initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Civic near Millcreek Drive in Mississauga. The driver subsequently fled from police. 

On Friday, April 12, 2024, a search warrant was executed on the Honda Civic that had previously fled, along with a residence in Mississauga, resulting in the following: 

Kashore Panton, a 20-year-old man from Mississauga, is charged with the following offences: 

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Tampering with Serial Number of Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 
  • Proceeds of Crime
  • Flight from Peace Officer
  • Trafficking in Opioid
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (X2) 

Keshauna Thorne, a 20-year-old woman from Mississauga, is charged with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Firearm 
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Tampering with Serial Number of Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Proceeds of Crime
  • Trafficking in Opioid
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (X2) 

Both were held for bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The following items were seized: 

  • Loaded Firearm with obliterated serial number
  • Loaded Overcapacity Magazine
  • An approximate quantity of 88.5 grams of Cocaine, 88 grams of Fentanyl, and 33 grams of Crack, with an estimated street value of over $33,000.00.
  • Approximately $8400.00 in Canadian currency.
