IRCC Unveils 2025 Express Entry Draw Schedule: Big Openings Ahead for Education & Trades

The Voice of Canada News:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has officially revealed its Express Entry category-based draw schedule for 2025, setting the stage for thousands of new invitations to apply (ITAs) in key occupations.

According to data obtained through an Access to Information Request, IRCC has earmarked:

  • 3,000 ITAs for Education occupations (2,000 still to be issued),
  • 8,000 for Healthcare & Social Services (7,500 already issued),
  • 3,300 for Trade occupations (all still pending).

This means major opportunities remain open in Education and Trades, while Healthcare is nearly filled for the year.

The draws will span six categories: Healthcare, STEM, Trades, Agriculture & Agri-food, Education, and French-language proficiency.

IRCC also confirmed that provinces and territories will now receive a rolling three-month draw calendar, giving advance notice of the type of draw, the week it will occur, and projected CRS cut-offs.

With this structured schedule, IRCC aims to balance Canada’s labor market needs with regional immigration strategies, while offering clarity to aspiring newcomers worldwide.
