More Flamenco and Tapas: Air Canada Adds Seville to Growing European Network
The Voice of Canada
Air Canada announced its newest European destination with the addition of non-stop seasonal service between Montréal and Seville, Spain, starting in September 2027.
Seville’s appeal extends well beyond the height of summer. Known for its rich history, vibrant culture, acclaimed cuisine and position as the gateway to Andalusia, the city offers an ideal escape during the spring and fall months when temperatures are milder, and visitors can enjoy its iconic landmarks, festivals and outdoor lifestyle at a more relaxed pace. Beginning Sept. 8, 2027, Air Canada will make it easier than ever for Canadians and international travellers to experience southern Spain with the launch of new non-stop service between Montréal and Seville. Flights are available for sale now at aircanada.com and through travel agents.

“The addition of Seville further bolsters Air Canada’s growing global network and cements Air Canada as the largest airline by seats offered between Canada and Spain. As the only non-stop service between the city and North America, Air Canada’s new service will unlock more of Andalusia and the world for our customers and Aeroplan Members while delivering a step-change in global connectivity for Seville,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo, at Air Canada. “Enabled by the next-generation capabilities of our expanding Airbus A321XLR fleet, Seville builds upon recent additions to Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife and marks another unique Air Canada destination in Southern Europe,” he concluded.
“ADM Aéroports de Montréal is delighted with this new direct route to Seville, one of Spain’s most iconic cities. The addition of this destination, operated by our partner Air Canada, helps strengthen YUL’s role as an international gateway to Canada. It demonstrates our commitment to offering an increasingly diverse network from our airport for the greatest benefit of travellers,” said Karl Brochu, ADM’s Vice President, Airport Operations and Air Services Development.
“Today, Sevilla is taking a historic step forward in its international connectivity. The arrival of Air Canada means much more than just the launch of a new route; for the first time, our city will have a direct transoceanic connection that will link us to Canada and strengthen our ties with North America,” said José Luis Sanz, Mayor of Sevilla.
“This connection marks a new chapter for Sevilla, as it will facilitate tourism, business, trade, and cultural exchanges and help strengthen our position as a major economic and tourist hub in Southern Europe. It is also an opportunity for our business community to continue attracting high-value investment and visitors.”
“We are truly delighted to welcome this new air connection. It marks another important step in strengthening connectivity between Canada and Spain,” said Isabel Martín Benítez, Consul for Tourism Affairs, Embassy of Spain in Canada. “I am confident that Canadian travellers will fall in love with Seville, a city with a unique culture and vibrant spirit, and that this new route will open up opportunities to discover the many wonderful places Andalusia has to offer.”
“The development of air connectivity is a key driver in sustaining Montréal’s appeal and competitiveness,” said Yves Lalumière, CEO of Tourisme Montréal. “This new direct flight between Montréal and Seville is a significant addition to the city’s air travel options. By improving the destination’s accessibility, particularly during the winter season, this new route helps support our year-round tourism growth strategy and enhance Montréal’s visibility in international markets.”
Air Canada’s newest Europe route will operate three times weekly from Sept. 8, 2027, increasing to four weekly flights beginning Oct. 1, 2027. Flights will be operated using Air Canada’s new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, featuring the airline’s Glowing Hearted design, which delivers a distinctly Canadian experience, emphasizing comfort, care, and connection for all customers on every flight. The aircraft features 14 Signature Class lie-flat seats and 168 Economy Class seats, offering customers a premium and comfortable travel experience onboard the airline’s most advanced single-aisle aircraft.
Conveniently timed to connect through Air Canada’s Montréal hub, the new service will provide seamless access to destinations across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America. International travellers connecting onward to the U.S. can also take advantage of U.S. customs preclearance in Montréal, allowing them to arrive at their final destination as domestic passengers. As the only airline offering transatlantic service to and from Seville, Air Canada will provide a unique and convenient new option for customers travelling between North America and southern Spain.
