SKÅL International Chennai proudly concluded its 64th Annual General Meeting and elections for the term 2025–27 at The Residency Towers, Chennai. The event witnessed an impressive turnout of over 90 members, with family and spouses joining later to celebrate the occasion.
The AGM commenced with a one-minute silence in memory of four esteemed members who passed away during 2024–25. Formed in 1960, SKÅL International Chennai stands as the second-largest SKÅL club in India, with a robust membership of 169. The club meets 8–10 times a year and includes leading professionals from across the hospitality industry.
The outgoing team was commended for its exceptional performance. Past President Sk. Gopinath lauded the clarity and detail of the financial and secretarial reports. Outgoing President Sk. Shabin Sarvotham expressed his gratitude to the members for the opportunity to serve and pledged continued support to the new board. Hon. Secretary Sk. Suseendran presented comprehensive analytics on meeting attendance and demographic insights, while Hon. Treasurer Sk. Lakshmanan offered an in-depth financial analysis that was well received by the members.
Incoming President Sk. P.S. Kamleshwaran extended his heartfelt thanks to the members for their trust and support. In his address, he shared his vision for the club’s future—highlighting initiatives such as streamlining club operations, launching a dedicated website and mobile app, forming micro-committees to nurture emerging talent, and increasing engagement through innovative and industry-centric meetings. He emphasized SKÅL’s motto—“Doing business among friends”—and expressed a goal of making Chennai the top SKÅL club globally by surpassing 200 members.
